Ms. Hoffner, Orchestra Director

Ms. Kristen Hoffner began playing the violin when she was seven years old and attended school in Arlington, TX.  In 2013 Ms. Hoffner received a Bachelor's in Music Performance from the University of Texas at Arlington. While at UTA she studied violin under Dr. Martha Walvoord.  From 2015-2017, Ms. Hoffner was the Music Theory Graduate Teaching Assistant at UTA and in 2018 she received her Master's in Music Education. 
Ms. Hoffner has taught private lessons in violin and viola since 2006.  Her students have been consistently successful in local competitions and college auditions. Ms. Hoffner is coming to Gene Pike Middle School after teaching at McLean Middle School and McLean 6th Grade Center in Fort Worth ISD from 2017-2019.  Her orchestras have received numerous "Superior" ratings at UIL and music festivals.  Ms. Hoffner's students are frequently successful at All-Region and Solo and Ensemble. 
Ms. Hoffner is married to her husband, Eric, who is a Pathologist.  He recently graduated from the University of North Texas! They have a dog, Maverick, that is an Australian Shepard and Corgi mix. In their free time they love to travel and be outdoors.  Their favorite thing to do is to go hiking in Colorado.
