A Note From Mr. D

Greetings Panther Families!

Soooo...Mr. D is throwing himself in front of the bus. This round of Tidbits was originally scheduled to go out early last week, and I never hit send!! I was wondering why I was getting so many questions about awards, and now I know why! So please accept my apology that this information was never sent out last week.

There is a lot going on this week, and we are looking forward to celebrating all the great things that involve our Pike Panthers. Please see below for details on all the events happening this week.

We are almost done with the 25-26 school year, but not yet, so please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or support we may offer.

And as we get ready to shift our focus to the 26-27 school year, I would really like your feedback on where we did well, and where we could improve for next year. If you have some constructive feedback that will help us be the best we can be for your kiddos, please fill out the "What to You Want Mr. D to Know" link here and at the bottom of these Tidbits.

That's all for now. We're almost there!! Until next time....y'all keep on keepin' on, and always KEEP BELIEVING!!

Mr. D

IMPORTANT CAFETERIA NOTICE - Effective May 1, 2026

Beginning May 1, 2026, students must have available funds in their cafeteria account in order to purchase meals. Charges to student accounts will no longer be permitted for the remainder of the school year.

Students who do not have sufficient funds at the time of purchase will be provided with a courtesy meal.

Upcoming Immunization Clinics

Nurse Black has been sending home immunization notices for the children that need vaccines prior to next school year. If you haven't gotten a notice from her, your child is most likely up to date. NISD has several vaccine clinics coming up:

May 20, 2026 – 3:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. – Northwest High School, 2301 Texan Drive | Justin 76247

Please see the district web site for details. These are an excellent and convenient opportunity to take care of this requirement. Please call or email nurse Black for questions or concerns.

Enrollment for 2026-2027 School Year Ongoing

Families can now enroll their students for the 2026-2027 school year at www.nisdtx.org/enroll!

Northwest ISD encourages families of returning students to re-enroll before the end of the current school year to minimize class adjustments at the start of the school year. For families of returning students, re-enrollment is a simple process with most information pre-filled based on previous submissions.

What Do You Want Mr. D to Know?

Thank you for those that have already sent us feedback, both positive and constructive ways we can improve. Keep it coming, as our continued dialogue is how we work together to make the school year positive for all of our Pike Panthers!
