Welcome Back!

Good Afternoon,

This is Mrs. Lutkenhaus Principal at Pike, and I would like to welcome all of our new and returning Panthers to Pike.  I hope everyone is as excited as we are about the upcoming school year!  Our new home is absolutely amazing and will be ready for our Panther Camp nights in August! 

Below you will find TONS of information about what to expect for the upcoming school year.  We look forward to seeing everyone in August.   ​


Panther Camp Night:

• We will be hosting 3 separate Panther Camp nights this year from 5:30- 7:00
• You will be directed to the cafeteria for a presentation prior to receiving your schedule.
  1. 8th graders August 6th
  2. 7th graders August 7th
  3. 6th graders August 8th
• All students will be able to pick up their schedule and tour the building.  
• Schedule changes request are located on the Pike webpage-- Counselors tab.
• Grade level teachers will only be available on their grade level night.  Teacher who split grade levels will select the night they plan to attend.
• You will be able to purchase yearbooks, PE clothes, talk with transportation, join PTA and much more!  
• No need to bring any supplies at this time.  
• We are expecting large crowds so please be prepared for traffic.

• For the upcoming school year Pike will be implementing a NO CELL PHONE use policy during school hours.
• Students can still have their cell phones, but they need to remain off and in their bags during school hours.
  1. This also includes air pods and smart watches.
• 1st offense teacher will have student place items on their desk and return at the end of class.
• 2nd offense item turned into the office for end of day pick up
• 3rd offense item turned into office, parent conference- device no longer allowed at school.

• Students do not need to bring all their school supplies on the first day of school.
• The school supply list has been divided out by what each content area will request, in addition to what students should always carry.

• Pike will follow the NISD dress code in addition to specific campus policies:
  1. No pajama pants or house shoes. 
  2. Hats will need to be worn bill facing forward.
  3. Beanies are not hats and not allowed to be worn in the building. 
  4. Shorts and skirts need to fully cover all body parts.
  5. Tank top straps must be 2 inches wide, off the shoulder tops and midriffs are not permitted.

• Cups and water bottles MUST have a lid, no straws.
• All food will remain in the cafeteria.
  1.  Students may have a small snack such as (granola bars, crackers, dry foods) during advisory. 

• If you did not purchase PE clothes last spring students will be able to purchase a set from coaches the first week of school, or during each Panther Camp Night.

• There will be another online order but please know that it will take 6 weeks to receive these.

• Our new entrance to Pike will be located off Texan drive across the road from the administration building.
•  We will be sending out specific information concerning traffic flow in the next couple of weeks.

• Doors open at 8:25
• Please do not drop students off before this time.
• Car riders enter through the front door, bus riders enter through the cafeteria.
• Students will remain in morning spots unless they attend tutorials.
  • 6th and 7th graders- cafeteria
  • 8th graders athletics hallway
• Car riders will dismiss out the front doors and bus riders through the cafeteria.
