Here we are...the final quarter of the 25-26 school year. This is a busy season as we gear up for STAAR, end of year celebrations, and everything else that happens during this crazy time.
During this time of year, we appreciate your support in reinforcing positive student behaviors. We know that what students experience at home plays a significant role in how they interact at school. We ask that you continue to have conversations with your child about respect—respect for their peers, for adults, and for themselves.
One of the most impactful ways you can support our campus is through how interactions with teachers are modeled. When students see and hear respectful communication from home, they are much more likely to reflect that same behavior at school. Our teachers are dedicated professionals who care deeply about students, and like all of us, they are human and may make mistakes. When we approach conversations with mutual respect and a shared goal, we can build a strong partnership that best supports your child.
As a reminder regarding discipline, we are only able to discuss specific consequences with the parents of the student involved. Even when multiple students are part of a situation, we cannot share disciplinary actions of others. At times, this may create the impression that consequences are not being given. Please know that when a student violates the Student Code of Conduct, appropriate action is taken. While you may not always be aware of those consequences, accountability is in place.
We truly value the strong partnerships we have with our families. When we work together with a shared purpose and avoid an “us vs. them” mindset, we are able to accomplish great things for our students.
That's all for now. Until next time....y'all keep on keepin' on, and always KEEP BELIEVING!!
Mr. D

Northwest ISD students will not attend classes on Friday, April 3, as schools close for a three-day weekend. Classes will resume on regular schedules on Monday, April 6.

Online enrollment for 2026-2027 school year opens April 1
|
Mark your calendars! Enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year opens at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 1. To help prepare appropriate staffing, we strongly encourage all families of returning students to complete enrollment for next year before the end of the current school year.
Enrollment is an annual requirement and doesn't roll over from the previous school year, but for returning families, the process is an easy three-step completion. The process is handled through Home Access Center via a guardian’s account, which results in previous enrollment information being completed.
Enrolling your child as early as possible is one way you can help your campus and the district prepare for next school year. Please visit www.nisdtx.org/enroll to learn more!

Remember Gun Safety This Season
|
The storage of guns is vital to safety, especially around children. Texas law now requires schools to distribute information about gun safety, as firearms are the leading cause of suicide in Texas. Restricting access to guns is critical in reducing acts of violence, whether as self-harm or towards others. Acts of mass violence and interpersonal violence often end in suicide. For information about safe gun storage, view this website.

Thank you to all of our parents who have been driving their students to the back of the school this week. It has helped create a much safer and more efficient drop-off and pick-up process.
Even with an increase in cars using the back pick-up in the afternoons, we have consistently finished by 4:30, with only a few final arrivals after that time. I’ve monitored the cameras, and families who were at the back of the line at 4:15 were typically out within 12 minutes or less. This is great considering the volume of cars we have!!
Thank you again for your patience and cooperation. I know waiting in a line isn’t always the most convenient option, but I will always place student safety over convenience. I truly appreciate your support in helping us keep all of our students safe.

A quick reminder that doors open at 8:25AM. There’s no staff supervision before then, and we’re seeing more students being dropped off early—sometimes more than an hour before doors open. Please help us keep everyone safe by dropping off at or after 8:25AM.
To help keep traffic moving safely and smoothly, please follow these reminders:
- Pull All the Way Forward: When entering the pick-up/drop-off zone, continue to the front of the line before stopping. Stopping early—even if you see your student—causes unnecessary back-ups.
- Student Pick-Up: Students will walk to meet you once you have entered the designated zone.
- Stay in the Zone: Use only the official pick-up/drop-off area. This keeps students safe!
- No U-Turns: Please do not make U-turns in the drive lanes. This creates a serious risk of accidents.
- Drive with Patience: Rushing or cutting into lanes can lead to accidents and unsafe conditions.
- One-Way Traffic: Each direction is one lane.
