Panther Families Weekly Tidbits
|
|
|
|
Greetings Panther Families!
This is one of my favorite times of the year. School is finding its rhythm—routines are becoming more solid, teachers are building strong relationships with students, and Panther life is in full swing. What I love most is seeing all of our organizations come alive. Each morning, I’m welcomed by the sounds of the NHS band practicing and the whistles from our football team. Throughout the day, I hear bands, choirs, and orchestras tuning up, and the sharp slap of volleyballs as our Lady Panthers spike them over the nets. I also see teachers leading engaging lessons and students smiling as they move through the hallways. I love it all!
During this time I also love connecting with students about their experiences—what’s working, what’s not, and what excites them most. The feedback we receive from students and parents is invaluable, and we discuss it every week to ensure Pike is the best school it can be. I’m grateful for the conversations we’ve already had with so many of you. Let’s keep the dialogue going and continue working together to BELIEVE in the amazing school community we share at Pike Middle!
Until next time....y'all keep on keepin' on, and always KEEP BELIEVING!
Mr. D

Note for athletes: Students participating in morning athletics will still be able to join the event. Please ensure they are aware if a grandparent or special loved one will be there for them so they don’t miss out on this special celebration.
Let’s fill the cafeteria with love and Panther pride!
A big THANK YOU to our PTA for hosting this amazing event!

If your Panther has expressed interest in joining clubs at Pike Middle School, please read the message below carefully. In accordance with new state laws, students are not allowed to join a club until parents have completed a permission slip.
You are able to complete 1 form for all of your students' clubs at Pike Middle, however should new clubs join later in the school year, you will will have to complete the form again (I'll leave this link on these tidbits throughout the year).
If your student has a desire to be in a club that is not listed, they need to do a few things:
- Decide what kind of club they want to help start.
- Find a staff member that can sponsor them. If they don't know where to start they can email me and I can forward to staff to see who might be able to sponsor.
- Work with that teacher to establish a day/time/location.
- Recruit some other students to join the fun!
- Email Mr. D for final approval.
- Parents fill out the permission slip.
- Then...let's go!!!
The form is linked below. If you have any questions about the form, please reach out to us. If you have questions about the specific clubs, please reach out to the sponsor of that club.

What Do You Want Mr. D to Know?
|
I truly do love feedback. If there is something that is going well that you want to recognize, or if you have an idea on something we can improve, I want to hear from you. There is also a spot to recognize the positive things going on for your kiddo, as well as a chance to recognize a staff member that has been a lighthouse for your student.
I read these as soon as they come in, and look forward to using this tool to engage with you throughout the year!

Students are doing a great job with their IDs. We are right around 90+% on students wearing their IDs all day with fidelity....so great job!
As a reminder, the expectation is that all students wear their IDs around their necks at all times during the school day. We will conduct checks at both entry points in the mornings. Any student without an ID will be issued a new one, and a $4 charge will be added to their account.
