Greetings Panther Families!
It has been an outstanding first few days here at Pike Middle! Students are finding their way to classes, figuring out their schedules, and learning the best shortcuts to beat the hallway traffic. The wide-eyed “deer in the headlights” look on many of our 6th graders’ faces is starting to fade, replaced by a new expression that says, “I think I know where I’m going… probably...maybe??”
My goal is to send out these “Tidbits” each week. Some weeks will be jam-packed with info, others will be short and sweet—but either way, you’ll stay in the loop. If there’s ever something you’re curious about and it’s not on our website, Facebook, or in these Tidbits, just reach out. If I don’t know the answer, I work with a whole army of people who can track it down faster than a middle schooler running to lunch!
A huge shout-out to you for getting your kids here this week! Parent drop-off and pick-up are running smoother each day. Just remember—please pull all the way up when you roll in. It keeps the line moving, helps everyone get through faster, and spares us all from starring in “Traffic Jam: The Musical.”
And to our parents of bus riders—you’re MVPs too! You’re making sure those kiddos get to their buses on time, which is no small feat in the morning rush. We know there are still a few logistical wrinkles with crowded buses and start-of-year traffic, but our transportation department is fantastic, and is working to make sure every student has a safe, comfortable, and positive ride.
Ok, that’s all for now. Have a fantastic weekend! Your trust in us means so much, and we can’t wait to partner with you in supporting your students’ learning and success throughout the year.
Until next time....y'all keep on keepin' on, and always KEEP BELIEVING!
Mr. D
