Dear Panther Family,

What a great start to the school year and week this has been. The focus of this week has been on learning classroom routines and expectations as well as teachers and students getting to know one another. Having students back on campus and watching their eager, smiling faces walking into the building each morning has been a welcome sight.

Our focus this school year is on student evolvement and student leadership. This year every teacher will sponsor a campus club and every student will participate and be a part of a campus club. Club days will be two times a six weeks during advisory class to allow all students on campus the opportunity to be a part of and participate in a campus organization. Students will be taking a survey during advisory class listing what clubs they would like to see at Pike this year. From this list students will then have the opportunity to sign up for a club that they will participate in each semester. Talk with your students about what they would like to see offered here at Pike.

I would like to invite everyone to attend out Panther Open House this Thursday, September 3rd from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. It will be a come and go format allowing everyone to walk their students schedule and meet their teachers. Our student I-Advocate kids will be set up in the Panther library to help parents learn how to access the Home Access Center to check their student's grades. PTA will selling refreshments and spirit wear in the Panther Spirit Shop and Kona Ice will also be at Pike selling treats with the proceeds going to our Panther PTA. We will have a short PTA meeting in the Panther Library starting at 6:30. We hope to see everyone come out on the 3rd and support our Pike Panthers.

Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to another great school year.

Sincerely,

Chris Jones
