Syllabus

All students in Theater classes are expected to follow the district policies and the class room procedures. Lessons, assignments, due dates and assessments will all be posted in Moodle. Please use the link found on the home page to connect you with the correct course. Tutorials can be held at various times to accommodate students, but prior arrangements must be made with me. The tutorial sign up sheet is on the class room door. Detentions will be held as needed, after parent contact is made. Please understand that I will encourage students to participate in the Theater classes. I know that many students are at different levels and each student is respected for their individual talents. Introduction to Theater- 6th grade classes- Students will learn theater vocabulary; facial expressions, stages, stance, positions; Theater Historya; mime and pantomime; script reading and rehearsing.

Theater 1- 7 & 8 grade classes-
Students will engage in various learning applications regarding communication, acting, history of the theater, stage, theater and acting vocabulary. Students will have many opportunities to practice lessons learned.

Advanced Theater-One Act Play-
Students will learn about types of communication, verbal and non-verbal. They will learn about facial expressions, stages, stances, positions, acting vocabulary,acting and speaking, playwrights,and many other activities to prepare for presenting a play on stage. The One Act Play contest will be February 17, 2016 at the new Eaton High School.
