Director Information

Mrs. HughesSuzanne Hughes, Choir Director
Mrs. Hughes is beginning her 11th year at Gene Pike Middle School and her 31st year of teaching. Mrs. Hughes has been accompanying choirs since she was in the 7
th grade. She attended Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree with a major in Piano. Mrs. Hughes also pursued graduate studies with Charles Eason at West Texas A & M University in Canyon Texas and Lanelle Blanton at Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas. 

Mrs. Hughes is in frequent demand as a judge and clinician in the state of Texas. Mrs. Hughes has earned numerous Choir Sweepstakes, Best in Class and Outstanding Performances in her career and is very excited about this next year at Pike.

Tyler Adcock, Choir Director
Mr. Adcock is beginning his 4th year at Gene Pike MS and his 6th year of teaching.  Mr. Adcock is a graduate of Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Music.  He continues to be an avid TCU sports fan.  Mr. Adcock continues his own vocal career with various performance gigs.

Mr. Adcock's wife is also a music teacher in H.E.B.  ISD.  Mr. Adcock was raised in Arkansas and graduated from historic Central High School in Little Rock, AR.


Jordan Ricks, Assistant Choir Director
Mr. Ricks is currently in his 10th year of teaching choir and his 1st year at Gene Pike M.S.  He received his Bachelor's degree in Sacred Music from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA and his Master's degree in Music Composition from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX.


Mr. Ricks is married and has two children, Mercy and Jude.  He has studied Piano, organ, trumpet, voice and harp.
